Products and catalogue
This guide covers what the panel does today, and also what it does not do yet, so you do not go looking for a button that is not there.
Panel → Products. The list of everything you sell, and each product's page with its details, its variants and their prices, cost and stock.
This guide covers what the panel does today, and also what it does not do yet, so you do not go looking for a button that is not there.
The list
At the top, four counters: Total products, Published, With EAN and Out of stock. Below them, the table: product, category, inventory, price, status and rating.
- The search box looks in the name, the category, every variant's SKU and every barcode. Several words must all match.
- Category filters by a category. The column and the filter use the product's first category.
- With EAN only hides products with no barcode on any variant. Next to the SKU you can see how many variants have one ("EAN" when they all do).
- Inventory adds up the stock of every variant in every warehouse. It turns amber at 10 units or fewer, and red at zero.
The list has row checkboxes, but there are no bulk actions on products: selecting rows does nothing beyond counting them. The Export CSV button does nothing yet either. Bulk editing exists inside each product, on its variants (below).
Creating a product
New product creates a draft called "New product" with a single variant at price 0, and takes you straight to its page. It is not visible in the store until you publish it.
The product page
Five tabs.
General details
Name, Short description, Description, Categories, Status and Image URL. Nothing is saved until Save changes.
- Status: Published or Draft. The selector also offers Archived, but saving it stores Draft: there is no separate archived state.
- Image URL is the main image, as an address. The panel does not upload product photos: the thumbnails on the product page are decorative. The product's photos arrive through the import, the demo content of a theme or the API.
- If someone else saved the same product while you were editing, you get "Someone has changed this product": the page reloads their version and you review and save again. Nobody overwrites anyone without knowing.
Variants
Options are what the customer chooses: size, colour, capacity… Each combination of values is a variant with its own price, stock and photos. At most 5 options per product and 2,048 variants. A colour option can carry colour swatches.
Review and generate variants shows what will happen before doing it: Will be created, Will be disabled, Will be re-enabled, and whether to Create the missing combinations. Nothing is deleted: a variant that no longer fits is disabled and keeps its history, and comes back on sale if its combination returns.
The variant table lets you edit SKU, price, previous price and stock right in the cell (stock only when there is a single warehouse; with several, the cell shows the total and each warehouse on hover). The arrows reorder the variants; that order is the one the store uses. Add variant creates a single combination by hand, starting from the first variant's price.
Bulk editing variants
Tick several variants (or all of them, after filtering by option value or search) and choose an action:
- Change price, Change previous price, Change cost: with Set to, Add (or subtract) or Raise or lower by %.
- Change stock: in one warehouse, with Set to or Add (or subtract).
- Put on sale / Disable.
- Allow selling out of stock / Don't sell out of stock.
Then Apply. Everything goes in one transaction: either every chosen variant changes or none does. Prices are rounded to cents and never go below zero.
Cost and margin
The pencil opens a variant's sheet: price, previous price, cost, SKU, barcode, EAN / GTIN, UPC, weight (in your store's unit) and dimensions, Track stock per warehouse, Sell without stock, Needs shipping (turn it off for services and digital products), On sale and Photos of this variant.
With a price and a cost, the sheet shows the margin as a percentage of the price, in red if you lose money. The customer never sees the cost. It is stored on the variant and used for that figure only: no report adds it up yet.
The previous price is shown struck through in the store only if it is higher than the price.
Weight and its unit
Weight and the dimensions only appear when Needs shipping is on, and the
weight field carries the unit your store works in: Weight (kg).
You choose that unit once, in Settings > General > Weight unit, between kg, g, lb and oz, and it comes out next to every weight field in the panel — the variant's and the minimum and maximum weight of a shipping rate.
It is a label, not a conversion. Choosing a unit changes no number and no calculation: shipping only ever compares weights with each other. What matters is that they are all written in the same unit, and that is exactly what the label is for. If you change the unit later, the weights already saved stay as they are and start meaning the new one, so pick it before you load your catalogue — or go over your weights and your shipping bands afterwards.
Moving in from another shop is the one case where a number IS converted: those weights arrive with their own unit declared and are turned into yours on the way in. See Move in from Shopify or WooCommerce.
Variant photos are chosen from the product's photos: the first one ticked is the main one, and when that variant is chosen the store shows those.
The same sheet is where a variant becomes a pack, a download or a code pool: see Advanced selling, Sell downloadable products and Sell keys and game cards.
Below the table is the product's quantity price tiers, explained in Advanced selling.
Personalisation
Fields the customer fills in when buying (an engraving, a name…). Explained in Advanced selling.
Stock history
It is always empty for now. The backend keeps a record of changes to the product, but this tab does not read it yet. To see what moved, use Barcode stock control.
Related
Other products whose first category is the same. It is a view, not a setting.
Deleting
Delete product asks for confirmation and removes the product and its variants from the catalogue. They are marked as deleted, not wiped from the database: past orders keep what was sold.
Categories
A product can be in several categories, chosen on General details with a search box that shows each one's full path ("Parent > Child"). Categories can be nested.
There is no screen to create, rename or order categories. They arrive with the import from Shopify or WooCommerce or with a theme's demo content. Their names can be translated in Languages.
Collections
A product can belong to one collection, and the product API accepts the id of an existing one. But the panel neither creates collections nor assigns them. When a product has no category, the list shows its collection's name in the category column.
Worth knowing
- Discounts are not set on the product: they are Promotions and coupons. The previous price is only a struck-through figure; it does not create a promotion.
- Warehouses are created in Settings. Without one, a variant's stock cannot be tracked.
- Each variant's field labels in the sheet are currently shown in Spanish even when the panel is in English (Precio, Coste, Peso…). They mean price, cost, weight and so on.

Promotions and coupons
A coupon is a code the customer types in the cart; an automatic promotion applies on its own when the cart meets its conditions.
